So a dear friend of mine recently re-introduced me to my blog and it got me thinking lots considering there have been MANY changes since my last post.
For starters, this is my last semester at MC! I graduate June 14th and really can't wait to see where I'm headed next. As of right now, the plan is to get as many credits completed as soon as possible so I can transfer to McDaniel (formerly known as Western Maryland College.) I have officially declared my major as Secondary Education, focusing on higher education English. (Basically, AP or IB English, 11th or 12th grade.) McDaniel has a great education program, it fit all of the criteria I had for myself and I'm just really excited! I will be on campus in an apartment there no later than Fall 2012 (I know... sounds like forever.)
I'm currently unemployed as of yesterday. I decided to go out with a bang this semester and focus strictly on school and my internship. Internship, you say? Yes! I'll be mainly just observing at a local Middle School and earning 1 credit towards my Bachelor's Degree. One lousy credit. Oh well... Moreover, it was time to move on from waiting tables and put 100% of my time and effort towards graduating and getting my degree!
As far as the rest of my life goes, everything is fairly normal. In June, my best friend Kevin passed away after a long, tough 7 year battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma and terrible lung infections. It's been a tough road since we were so close, and he was Andrew's best friend. I just wonder how people handle death if they don't have a faith or hope- because I know for certain I wouldn't see much sense is still living had I gone through this without that. But it's one day at a time and trusting in His unfailing love that He'll show me the way... which He has:)
So long for now!

November
ok so I'm not really used to this whole blog deal... but I'm willing to give it a shot!
This year has had many ups and downs, but I figured it's best to just focus on what life is bringing me right now. I'm currently in my second semester at Montgomery College (MC). I love it for the most part- tons of flexibility, close to home, and allows me to continue working while I'm in school. The only downfall is a- it's still school... b- a lot of my friends are gone at school, so sometimes "free" time is quite boring, and c- I still have to work;). Grade-wise I'm doing much better. I had to pull two all-nighters in a row to get some assignments completed since I let procrastination and distractions get the best of me, but I'm trying to get back up on my feet. For those of you who didn't know- I am a survivor of the swine flu! It knocked me out for about 7 days in early October, so I was out of school and work which was very tough. I'm slowly piecing everything back together even though it happened nearly a month ago!
I'm still waitressing at the local bbq restaurant Red Hot & Blue and I love it! So many great people, great flexibility. It's a great feeling being able to enjoy going to work every day! I was working full-time at the beginning of the semester, but had to cut that down since I got sick and was falling behind in school. Regardless, I always find a way to make an appearance at the Blue on a pretty much daily basis!:)
The holiday season is here and let me just tell you... it's my FAVORITE! We just had Halloween (Sarah and I were "two peas in a pod"... we dressed as twins in all green) and that was a blast! It was sad not having some of our best friends around since they were all at school, but somehow Sarah and I always manage to make the best out of everything! Thanksgiving, which is also mom's birthday, is SO close I can't wait! Turkey and gravy with stuffing and sweet potato casserole couldn't sound any better right now! Let alone, no school;). After Thanksgiving, we've got the Advent season and with that, dad's birthday, my birthday, CHRISTMAS, and grandpa's birthday shortly thereafter:). It's such a fun time of year... tons of "no schools," family, and friends... and presents!
I'm excited to see what the next year has in store for me, but I'm at no rush for this year to end. I'm so blessed to have a peaceful ending to this year, which wasn't the case last year. I wish the best holiday season to any of you who may be reading this, if anyone is (haha). Eat lots of turkey but most of all... enjoy it all while you can! Before we know it the holidays will be over and it's back to school and back to reality:(.
